Cedar Valley Winery Utilizes Mechanical Harvester for 2022 Season
We, at Cedar Valley Winery in Batavia, recently began our 2022 harvest by picking half of our crops, namely our LaCrosse, Vignoles and Foch grapes as these grapes were ready. The only difference this year is that we decided to step it up a notch by using a mechanical harvester. Our initial concern was that it would damage our vines and/or trellis system but we were delighted to see that the whole process went off without any hiccups and our grapes were harvested in record time and in good condition. posted 9/9/22
Bob Ferguson Wellness Blog - How Important is Sleep?
How Important is Sleep? I did an inadvertent experiment several weeks ago that demonstrated just how debilitating lack of sleep can be. FAA Opening Reception - "Selections from it's Permanent Collection"
The Fairfield Art Association is featuring "Selections from it's Permanent Collection" in the Main Gallery at the FA&CC, with an opening reception from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 2. Included in the exhibit is a newly acquired intaglio print titled "Lady in Blue" by internationally known maestro of printmaking Maruricio Lasansky. The over 6 foot tall by 3 ft wide, limited edition print featuring a dog along side of a woman dressed in blue was produced in 1967. It joins three other Lasansky prints in the FAA collection. Ironically this print and another titled "Artist Approaching Middle Age" were both featured in a FAA exhibit in 1969 and proclaimed "one of the most outstanding art exhibits in the state of Iowa" at the time. posted 8/26/22
