Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Upgrades Phone System to Enhance Communication and Service

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a significant upgrade to its office phone system, replacing outdated and antiquated equipment with a modern Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution designed to better serve members, businesses, and the community.

After recognizing that the previous phone system was no longer meeting operational needs, the Chamber partnered with Gordon Flesch Company to implement a new communications platform powered by Elevate Unified Communications.

Elevate is an all-in-one solution that integrates phone service, messaging, video meetings, and file management into a seamless, user-friendly experience—whether staff are in the office or working remotely.

“This upgrade allows us to communicate more efficiently and respond more quickly to the needs of our members,” said Mendy McAdams, Chamber Director. “It’s a major step forward in ensuring we remain accessible and adaptable in today’s fast-paced environment.”

The new system introduces several enhanced features, including:

  • The ability to send and receive text messages directly from a business number
  • Voicemails delivered straight to email inboxes
  • Mobile app access, allowing staff to take office calls from anywhere
  • Direct phone lines for each staff member and Main Street Fairfield

Additional benefits of the Elevate platform include:

  • Unified Communications: Combines voice, SMS, video conferencing, and file sharing
  • AI-Powered Tools: Automatic meeting transcriptions, summaries, and call insights
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Use of business phone numbers via desktop or mobile apps
  • Reliability & Security: Cloud-based system with 99.999% uptime and compliance support
  • Easy Integration: Compatible with tools like Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and other CRM systems

The system operates through plug-and-play IP phones or desktop and mobile applications, offering advanced call features such as auto-attendants, call forwarding, and call routing groups.

While the Chamber’s main number remains the same, extensions have been added. For the Director Mendy it is 101 and Main Street Fairfield is 102. Each person now has the ability to text with the new system. To text Claire, use 641-451-2030, to text, Mendy use 641-451-2031. Main Street also has its own phone number at 641-451-2032 (do not text this line.)

The Chamber also noted the positive experience throughout the transition process. “We’ve had excellent onboarding and training as we learn the new system, which has made the transition smooth for our team,” added McAdams.

This investment reflects the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to improving operations and providing high-quality service to its members and the Fairfield community.
