Meet Team Pioneer Robotics — Fairfield’s Future Innovators

Fairfield’s next generation of innovators is hard at work building, coding, and creating! Team Pioneer Robotics (Team #10602) is a high school robotics team proudly representing the Fairfield area in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) — an international competition where students design, build, and program robots to complete a new set of complex tasks each season.
This year’s challenge, called “DECODE,” pushes teams to engineer robots that can navigate obstacles, perform precise movements, and think creatively under pressure. With the help of dedicated mentors and community supporters, Team Pioneer Robotics is already deep in the design and testing phase, developing a robot equipped with Mecanum wheels, linear slides, sensors, and custom-printed parts to take on the challenge.
To make their season possible, the team is working toward a $10,000 fundraising goal. Donations will help cover critical expenses like robot components, travel costs, competition registration, and materials for community STEM demonstrations. Every dollar directly supports students gaining real-world experience in engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving — skills that will carry them far beyond competition day.
Team Pioneer also plays an active role in inspiring the next generation of creators. The group hosts community demonstrations and STEM booths where younger students can get hands-on with robotics and learn how science and creativity come together in exciting ways.
