Job Opening: Chamber Administrator
Job Title: Chamber Administrator (Part-Time)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with occasional nights and weekends (when we have big events)
(Potential for full-time hours in the future)
Position Overview: The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Chamber Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. This part-time position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a passion for community engagement. The role is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours with the potential to transition into a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily administrative tasks, including managing emails, answering phones, and member inquiries.
- Maintain and update member databases, event calendars, and Chamber website content.
- Coordinate and assist with Chamber events, including planning, logistics, and event-day support.
- Work closely with Chamber leadership to promote member engagement and retention.
- Prepare and distribute communications such as newsletters, social media updates, and press releases.
- Handle bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.
- Attend Chamber events and meetings as needed, which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with social media management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in administration, event coordination, or nonprofit management is a plus.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
