Optimae Life Services Peer Support and Groups are Free to Those Who Reside in Washington, Louisa, Henry, Des Moines, Keokuk, Lee, Jefferson, Appanoose, Wapello, Davis, Monroe, Mahaska, and Van Buren Counties.
Recovery Café: Open time to explore resources, get help applying for a variety of programs such as insurance, food assistance, and many more state based and local resources of help in the area.
Sip & Share: Come in and enjoy a cup of coffee or juice and explore what the Recovery Center has to offer and get to know others that are here and staff.
Peer to Peer Support: Join us in one of our support groups to join with others who are going through the same thing.
Mini WRAP: The Wellness Recovery Action Plan® or WRAP® is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well and stay well. Call Ashley @ 641.919.1375 for details and sign-up.
Coping Strategies: Learn how to identify coping strategies that work for you.
Job Readiness / Skills: Assistance with resumes, job searches, and skills evaluation.
Creativity and Wellness: Create new projects or bring your own project to work on in a group setting; painting, drawing, collage, and more. Supplies provided.
Intro to Recovery: Discover what Recovery means to you and begin working toward your goals.
Wellness Toolbox: Learn how self-care has a key role in your mental and physical wellness, also includes the self-care with wellness in mind.
Peer Council: Participate in a monthly council meeting made up of your peers. The council makes decisions about the day to day of the Recovery Center.
Life Skills: Participate in activities that will enhance skills for everyday living.
Team Huddle: Weekly huddle with staff at the other Recovery Centers to discuss the plans for the week.
Movie & Snack: Come and enjoy a movie in a group setting. All movies have a message that can relate to mental health in one way or another.
Movie Review: At the end of the movie we will have a discussion of the movie, (What lessons did the main character(s) learn? What was the movies main message? What/how did the movie make you feel? Did you connect with any of the moments in the movie, how?)
Games: Come enjoy a fun filled afternoon of games with peers, we play card games, trivia, Yahtzee, etc.
Intro to Self-Care Come in sit back, relax, and enjoy learning about the advantages of self-care and what self-care is all about.
Arts & Crafts: Creating new projects with our peers or bring your own project to work on in a group setting; painting, beading, and more.
Community Give Back: A group of peers who plan a wonderful act of kindness by giving back to others, will be done monthly to connect with the community.
Family Peer Support Group: A Family Peer Support Specialist is a person with significant life-altering experience pertaining to mental illness (“lived experience”) with a Child(ren) in the home. These specialists support parents with struggles pertaining to their child(s) mental health, psychological trauma or substance use. We have openings for new clients that may be struggling with their child(s) mental health or substance abuse. Family Peer support services are available to any family in need of additional support who have a child(ren) that are living in the home and have been diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis including addiction. Please call Ashley @ 641.919.1375 with questions or to schedule an appointment if not wanting to meet in a group setting.
