Fairfield CoLab Steps Up for the Chamber When It Mattered Most

When the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce unexpectedly lost heat in its building this winter, staff were faced with an urgent challenge: how to keep serving members without a functional workspace.

In stepped Fairfield CoLab—and in doing so, they reminded our community what collaboration truly looks like.

In a matter of hours, CoLab opened its doors and provided the Chamber team with a dedicated office space, complete with two desks, secure locking doors, and plenty of room to continue daily operations. Most importantly, the space was warm, comfortable, and welcoming—allowing Chamber staff to remain productive without missing a beat.

“From the moment we arrived, everyone was so helpful and accommodating,” said Chamber Executive Director Mendy McAdams. “They made sure we had everything we needed and truly made us feel at home.”

Located in the historic former Iowa State Bank building, Fairfield CoLab blends a charming mid-century atmosphere with modern amenities. The space offers entrepreneurs, remote workers, freelancers, and small business owners an inspiring environment to work, connect, and grow.

More than just a coworking space, Fairfield CoLab is a nonprofit hub focused on building community and supporting professional development. Through shared workspace, events, and partnerships, CoLab helps reduce professional isolation and strengthens Fairfield’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
