Mah Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Players at FPL play an American variation of the game every week at the library. Stop by and see how the game is played and join the group if you want to learn the game. Join Eastern Iowa Science Fair Champion Antariksha Sharma, an eleventh grader with six years of Science Fair experience, as she and other adult mentors guide participants in a weekly science club November 19th-Feb. 11th. Participants will work through experiments, learn about the scientific method, and develop their own experiments!
Parents need to attend the first 15-20 minutes of the first session on Tuesday November 19th at 5:00 PM in the FPL meeting room.
Participants will create a science fair display to exhibit at the library and the Junior State Science Fair of Southeast Iowa at Coralville, Iowa on Monday, February 17 if they wish.

Shut Up and Write is a chance for writers to sit quietly together and work on their writing projects.
All writers and all experience levels are welcome, and dont worry, no one will see what you've written. This hour is about getting your writing done.
WHAT TO EXPECT
3:30 PM: Quick intros
3:45 PM-4:45 PM: Write for 1 hr.
4:45 PM-5:00 PM: Clean up and Farewells (until next Tuesday!)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
Bring your paper, pens, or laptop (whatever helps you write best). Headphones are optional but recommended.

Whether you're troubleshooting a computer issue, learning to use a new phone, or seeking guidance on software, our knowledgeable community volunteers are here to help. Smart phone questions are welcome! Disclaimer: Our volunteers are not experts but they know where to look to find the solutions you need—and they want to help! Audience: Youth in grades 3rd-5th

Join Eastern Iowa Science Fair Champion Antariksha Sharma, an eleventh grader with six years of Science Fair experience, as she and other adult mentors guide participants in a weekly science club November 19th-Feb. 11th. Participants will work through experiments, learn about the scientific method, and develop their own experiments!
Parents need to attend the first 15-20 minutes of the first session on Tuesday November 19th at 5:00 PM in the FPL meeting room.
Participants will create a science fair display to exhibit at the library and the Junior State Science Fair of Southeast Iowa at Coralville, Iowa on Monday, February 17 if they wish.

Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Players at FPL play an American variation of the game every week at the library. Stop by and see how the game is played and join the group if you want to learn the game. Teaching instruction for new players will take place the first Friday of each month. The library also offers introductory books for check-out.
