The Greatest Reveal of All Time
THE SIXTH SENSE is about an award-winning child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis), who is depressed because one of his former clients committed suicide because Crowe was unable to help him.
Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) is a child that has social problems frighteningly similar to Crowe's old client, so Crowe decides he will try to help this child in order to find redemption. Cole later reveals that this problem goes well beyond normal social problems. He claims to be able to see the ghosts of dead people, but no one else can.

"God Speed Your Love to Me"
If nothing else the popularity of the film Ghost guaranteed a revival of that great love song Unchained Melody. It's always a pleasure when good music is heard on the airways and we have Ghost to thank for this little treasure making a comeback.
Ghost also provided Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore with a couple of career roles as a typical yuppie couple settling in Tribeca when tragedy strikes one of them. But as it turns out, that's only the beginning of the story.

Resilient Fairfield Challenge: Pioneering Circular Solutions for Our Community
April 20, 2024
10:00 am · 6:00 pm
A little context, in case you didn’t know . . .
Just because we’re a little rural community in SE Iowa, that doesn’t mean Fairfield isn’t about something big!. This
is the town that said it could with more than 400 start-up businesses... The first in the nation Sustainable Living
degree program (and a certificate in Regenerative Agriculture) ... An organic dairy serving the community locally
produced milk, yogurt and cheeses for more than 30 years... Sustainable Living Coalition’s straw bale EcoBarn,
built by the hands of the community and serving as an education and community gathering space... And, a
sustainability coordinator supported through a partnership between the City, Maharishi International University,
SE Iowa Sierra Club and 54 businesses and individuals.
Getting to the point . . .
With 6 community-based sub-committees working under the auspices of the Fairfield sustainability coordinator
and the Resilient Action Committee (RAC), the architecture for a new 10-year resilience plan is under
construction. Resilient Fairfield Challenge is an event that celebrates the work already underway and
takes our community deeper into the exploration of what it means to build a circular community. What do we
mean by a circular community? Recognizing the resources we have in our own community – intellectual, skillbased,
natural resources, produced resources, community connections and economic resources - and, sharing,
repairing, reusing, remanufacturing, reimagining how we put these resources to new, different and innovative
uses. At the same time, our community will experience the benefits of the reduction of waste, pollution, and
carbon emissions throughout our local economy and by doing so, build a more sustainable and certain future for
all. This is what a circular community looks like, and this is what Fairfield strives to be.
And now the details of the event . . .
The event is designed with the intention of expanding the thinking, principles and direct experiential engagement
behind what is possible in building a circular community. This is an opportunity to directly engage in moving
towards a circular model that is incremental, creative, innovative, provides economic vitality/stability and makes
good common sense. This event will offer space for invention, imagination, creative problem solving and
exploration, all within the context of building circularity. We can take a fresh look at how we use the existing
resources in our community by continuously reusing, repurposing, repairing and reimagining how they might be
used.
Activities, information and opportunities in this event will be geared towards all age groups and demographics,
with a special emphasis on targeting high school and college students.
What the event looks like:
The event will take place across two venues within walking distance of one another, each offering different
opportunities to dive into experiencing and building components of a circular model. Examples of event offerings
include:
§ Maker’s Space Solution Lab using hack-a-thon model with competitive teams solving global to
local problems;
§ Workshops on biomimicry as a circular solutions model, and repurposing recyclables into new
products;
§ Demonstration & Learning Sessions: food waste reduction and recovery using home bokashi
composting systems;
§ Repair Fair onsite repair and parts fabrication;
§ Exchange Fair for clothing, seeds, tools, etc.;
§ Speakers Corner highlighting student voices;
§ Advocacy Corner on right to repair and elimination of single use plastics;
§ EcoFashion Show from repurposed materials;
§ Student Global Solutions presentations and demonstrations:
§ Food and Entertainment spend an hour, or spend the day, there will be plenty to do for all ages.
Opportunities for being part of the event:
Please note that this is a zero-waste event and the messaging, content and management of the event will be
designed to meet these standards. If you are interested in being part of this event, please let us know as there are
a range of opportunities for participating. We’re looking for the following:
§ Speakers on the following topics: circular architecture design, circular packaging and product design,
circular fashion production, creating local food systems, moving towards zero waste systems,
regenerative agriculture systems, alternatives to “fast fashion”
§ Panel discussion: living models of circular communities from around the country and the globe as an
example for Fairfield
§ Vendors: locally made products and services consistent with the circular economy model, there will be
a small fee of $30 for the set-up for a vendor table
§ Demonstrations and Learning Sessions: interactive sessions for a range of age groups or targeted
audiences, sessions to be from 15 minutes to 45 minutes
§ Repair Fair: small appliances, electronics, jewelry, wood products, small equipment, knife sharpening,
gardening/lawn equipment
§ Advocacy: individuals or non-profits promoting circular economy models and zero waste initiatives
§ EcoFashion Show: looking for fashion from recycled, repurposed or reimagined materials, and models
for the EcoFashion show
§ Exchange Fair: while the focus will be on clothing, tools and seeds, this is not a garage sale but rather
an opportunity to exchange goods within our community
§ Food & Entertainment: What’s an event without good food, music and possibly dancing? We’re still
soliciting interest from bands and musicians. Let us know if you want to entertain.
Want to be a co-sponsor? We would love to have you onboard.
If you are interested in supporting the efforts to move Fairfield towards a more resilient future, it would be great to
have you as part of our co-sponsorship team. You or your organization will be recognized in all promotional
materials, unless you prefer to remain anonymous. Suggested co-sponsorship levels:
§ Individual: $100-250
§ Non-profit: $150-500
§ Business: $250-1000
§ Corporate: $500-1500
§ Government: $500
Please let us know what your interests or questions might be. We hope you’ll
be part of this important event.

IMDb Review
True Love Conquers All
Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, and Robin Wright Penn star in this classic fairy tale entitled The Princess Bride. It is based on a novel by William Goldman, who also wrote the screenplay. Director Rob Reiner brings life to this story and effectively evokes the enchanting spirit of the witty 1973 novel.
The movie opens with a sick boy (Fred Savage) who receives a visit from his grandfather (Peter Falk) who intends to read to him from his favorite book. The boy is not exactly pleased to be distracted from his world of video games. However, his mood quickly changes as he and the viewer are transported to a place out of time.
We are taken to Florin, a kingdom in an imaginary land, complete with dashing heroes, cowardly princes, rhyming giants, rodents of unusual size, fancy swordfights, and yes . . . even some kissing.

The years have not diminished this at all
After 40 years (I can't believe it!) this remains among the greatest comedies ever made. For those old enough to remember, the rumor mill predicted this to be a major flop due to so much turmoil while being filmed (8 writers! & a lead actor & director who fought constantly), but somehow it all turned out close to perfection.

“DAZZLING CELLO AND SOARING TENOR VOCALS” – NPR Music
BRANDEN & JAMES bring the soulful timbre of James on his cello combined with Branden’s emotional and powerful vocals, creating a sound that leaves audiences feeling moved and inspired. They have “become a brand-name in the classical-crossover music world alongside the likes of Josh Groban, The Piano Guys, and Jackie Evancho.” The Bay Area Reporter
“Hardly a supporting player, but, rather, a true co-creator and co-star” (Robert Windeler, NY Times Music Correspondent) Australian cellist James, began creating arrangements of familiar tunes that make you listen as you’ve never heard them before. Branden, a former finalist on America’s Got Talent & resident tenor at The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Los Angeles Opera; recently penned a memoir entitled, Lyrics of My Life which entered Amazon Books new releases at #9. It was published by Simon & Schuster in September, 2020.
Powerhouse vocalist Effie Passero rocketed to fame on the ABC reboot of popular talent show American Idol. Passero impressed both the judges and fans of the show, most notably on her standout performance of ‘Barracuda’, the classic track by rock group Heart with Judge Luke Bryan favourably comparing her vocals to Ann Wilson. Passero was an early favourite in the show and placed top 20, and since then she has performed across the globe and has worked on various different studio projects including her debut album of original songs, Better.
