Free Grant Webinar: Before You Seek a Grant
This webinar will provide you with a step-by-step checklist to increase your organization's readiness for foundation fundraising, addressing these questions:
1. What groundwork do I have to have in place before approaching foundations for funding?
2. What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status and where can I get some help to do so?
3. What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits?
This course is geared toward representatives of community groups without nonprofit status or new nonprofits with very little experience in grantseeking. We focus specifically on foundation fundraising.

Free Grant Webinar: "Introduction to Finding Funders"
This session provides an introduction to a large database called Foundation Directory Online (FDO). Learn how to create customized searches and develop lists of prospective donors to match your nonprofit organization's funding needs. With Foundation Directory Online you can search for foundations that support programs and organizations like yours, especially those who offer funding in your geographic area.
This webinar will include a demonstration of the database followed by hands-on searching time. You may want to allow an extra hour past 2:00 to practice on the library's public computers. If attendance is high and all computers are taken, you may reserve a computer for a later time. Note that the FDO is accessible inside the library on our computers only. Due to licensing agreements, it is not accessible offsite or through your laptop computer on our wireless network.
Audience: Representatives of nonprofit organizations looking for potential foundation or corporate supporters. The webinar assumes no previous experience with Foundation Directory Online.
